The Memphis Recycling Facility is back open and the town of Collierville curbside recycling service will resume as normal.

Recycle carts are collected weekly on the same day as your household garbage collection. The following list illustrates what can and cannot be recycled:

You CAN recycle:

•Glass Bottles & Jars

•Milk & Juice Cartons

•Plastic Bottles & Jugs 

  No. 1-7 (with lids)

•Cereal & Food Boxes

•Wide-mouth Plastic 


•Mixed Paper


•Office Paper & Junk Mail

•Paperback & Hardcover 



•Phone Books & Catalogs

•Aluminum Foil & Trays

•Rigid Plastic

•Tetra Pak/Aseptic

•Cardboard Boxes (cut to a size that will fit in the recycle container) & Pizza Boxes

You CANNOT recycle:


•Paint Cans

•Aerosol Cans

•Pie Plates or Ovenware


•Window Glass

•Light Bulbs



•Plastic Bags*



•Motor Oil Bottles

•Bound or Plastic 


*Plastic bags can be recycled at several local stores.

Over the June 1 weekend, the town officials was informed that a large fire occurred at a recycling facility that the city utilizes for curbside recycling services. 

The facility was temporarily shut down.
