Stage IV lung cancer survivor Gina Hollenbeck won second place in the Team Draft Superbowl Challenge.

Hollenbeck said she raised enough money to got to the events leading up to the Superbowl and used the opportunity to talk about lung cancer.

“(I told) every player celeb and new station I could that lung cancer is the number one cancer killer of men and women, yet it is the least funded,” she said. “I never smoked and anyone with lungs can get lung cancer.”

There just isn’t a lot of funding going to lung cancer research because everyone thinks smoking is the cause of lung cancer, said Hollenbeck. “More and more non-smokers are getting it. No one deserves lung cancer. We need a cure, so we have to move past the lie that can only be prevented by smoking cessation.”
