All day, every day in the artist’s gallery, you can see the works of this month’s artists, Jessica Chen and Angela Zhou. 

 

Take your children to Tiny Tots story time 

Toddler story time takes place on Mondays and Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. Leaders read books, sing, do nursery rhymes, use bells and scarves and shakers. This is a fun way to get your babies socialized, and to spend time with other parents at your stage of life. Tiny Tots will help you learn skills to support your child’s learning, and that you can use at home. For ages 0-23 months, but siblings are always welcome.

 

Listen to the Woodwind Quartet at Tunes & Tales

The library will be alive with the sound of music as the Memphis Symphony Orchestra Woodwind Quintet plays a unique accompaniment to the tale "We're in the Wrong Book!" by Richard Byrne. Afterwards, participants can enjoy a fun craft. The performance lasts from 11 - 11:45 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 27. No preregistration necessary. Best for ages 3 - 8.

 

Explore STEAM at story time 

Toddlers and preschoolers are invited to attend a hands-on, exploratory story time at from 11-11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 31. It will feature various topics in science, technology, engineering, art and math.

 

Listen to a master gardener talk about shrubs

Master Gardener William Cummins will be in the Halle Room from 2-3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 3 to talk about preparing a shrub for its new home in your garden. Learn to shape, clean up the non-growing twigs, and give your shrub the boost it needs. Also learn about tool maintenance and care for your new shrub. Register on the library’s events calendar beginning Saturday,Oct. 20. 

 

Learn how to help your dog cope with anxiety

Does your dog respond fearfully to thunderstorms and loud noises? Is it anxious when left by itself? Cling to you and follow your every move? If you answered yes to any of these questions, you are not alone. Join Bryan and Kira Bailey from Taming the Wild as they talk to you about Pharmacotherapy in the Halle Room from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Nov. 3. Learn how to recognize and treat your dog’s condition and restore safety and a higher quality of life to you and your dog. Register on the library’s events calendar beginning Saturday, Oct. 20. 

 

Play a life-sized game of Clue

Students in grades 6-12: join the library for this special after-hours lock-in event featuring a life-size game of Clue played throughout the whole library on Saturday, Nov. 3, from 6:30-8 p.m. Register online at colliervillelibrary.org.

 

Visit art galleries from the famous red double-decker bus

Collierville Burch Library is partnering with the Morton Museum and the Collierville Division of Tourism to present Art on the Move on Saturday, Nov. 10.  Event goers can board the famous Red Double Decker Bus in town and visit art galleries at the Morton Museum, Collierville Town Hall and the Collierville Burch Library. At the library stop, there will be arts and crafts for children of all ages, along with the opportunity for everybody to meet and talk to artists about their art work. The event will take place from 10:30 a.m. until 3 p.m.
