Fall has been very good to the members of Uncommon Threads Quilt Guild.  Several members had their works of art shown in juried quilt shows and awarded ribbons in others.

Organizers note, “We are very proud of Wendy Johnston and her three winning quilts from the Delta Fair. One of Wendy’s quilts, Dragonfly, won best of show. Congratulations, Wendy!”

Another of member, Michele Perfect, had her quilt New Beginning accepted for the Fall Paducah, Kentucky show. This is quite an accomplishment just to be accepted for any of the prestigious American Quilter’s Society shows.

Also, Lora Cornelius participated in the Modern Quilt Guild show and sale for WKNO public television, a month-long show at the WKNO offices in September. “It is a privilege to contribute to the worthwhile work of local public television,” organizers say. “In addition to Lora’s participation in this event, the guild as a whole makes and donates quilts to the Baptist Hospice facility in Collierville. On average the guild donates about 10 quilts per month as part of our charitable work.”

Uncommon Threads Quilt Guild meets on the fourth Tuesday of every month at the Germantown United Methodist Church, 2331 Germantown Rd., at 6:15 p.m.  The next meeting is October 23.

Enter on the lower level of the church from the West Street side where parking is located.  Visitors are always welcome.
