Courtesy of Briarcrest Christian School - Pugh’s Flowers recently held a viral video contest open to all area high schools. The company received 10 videos submitted from various schools including Westwood, Arlington, ECS, Briarcrest, Collierville, FACS and Cordova with more than 15,000 total combined views of all videos. BCS won the contest and Pugh’s presented the school’s theater department with a $2,500 check.

Courtesy of St. Benedict at Auburndale - Four St. Benedict at Auburndale seniors were recently recognized by the Memphis Board of Trade as winners in its 2011 High School Essay Contest. The overall first place winner, receiving a $500 prize, was Allie Heirigs; the second place SBA winner, receiving $250, was Jeremy Mothersell; and two third place winners from SBA were Matthew Chernauskas and Patrick Erstine, each receiving $100. The four students are members of Karen Timmins’ AP Macroeconomics class.
