There was a lot of hoopla surrounding Collierville’s home game Friday night against non-region foe Wooddale considering the Dragons were playing their first game in their new stadium.

All the pomp and circumstance didn’t seem to bother the Dragons, though.

Collierville (3-3) got touchdowns from five different players and broke a two-game losing streak with a convincing 42-0 win over the Cardinals (4-2).

Ladarin Brown scored a pair of rushing TDs for the Dragons and Kobe Perkins, Cade Cupp and Peyton Murphy each had one. Cupp was Collierville’s leading rusher with 35 yards.

Mitch Austin completed 9 of 12 passes for 95 yards, including a TD pass to Justin Stonework, who caught five balls for 65 yards. Kayvon Anderson, Ben Olsen, Scottie Alexander and Caleb Harris each caught a pass.

Collierville’s defense was suffocating, led by three tackles each from C.J. Barnes and Jared Dawson. Barnes and Lester each had one sack for the Dragons. Jordan Henderson added an interception.

The Dragons return to action tomorrow night for another non-region game at Memphis Central.
